HEALTH & LIFESTYLE COUNSELLING - iCBT-Integrative Therapy
About Deb Formosa
In the early 1990's my oldest son was diagnosed with (ASD) Autism Spectrum Disorder. Seeking to improve his life and understand how to cope and deal with him I discovered a wide range of therapies, that not only helped me but enabled him to create strategies in which he could function in this highly demanding world.

Through the years I have sought to improve my education, skills and development as a person, to help my life and the lives of others.
I have had many good teachers and met many different people who helped and guided me along the way and for this I am truly grateful...

A good friend and teacher taught me the art of Meditation and with out this fundamental tool I would not have coped with the grueling routines of an autistic child.

With a recommendation from my sons psychiatrist, and gaining confidence in my abilities, I completed a short course in basic CBT.
With its application and the vast improvement in behaviour and attitute of my son, I  continued to develop my skills in CBT, to get a better understanding of how I could help him further . I then went on and sought out and studied in a wide range of psychotherapies to help and empower others at all  different developmental stages.

I have a keen interest in the therapeutic use of Evolutionary psychotherapy and the plasticity of the mind. I believe if we offered more attention into these areas we would have a very different perspective of life, a better understanding and more common ground into ultimately why we feel the way we feel and why we do the things we do.

Every step of our lives we are evolving, we are a survival based  race driven to seek  individuation (the process of becoming as complete a human being as possible, given one's circumstances), Our existence potentially craves balance and harmony -(Homeostasis) on many levels,
physical, emotional, social,  mental and spiritual.
Every one of us has different needs, it is for this reason
I continue to evolve and develop skills in different areas
and come at therapy with an Integrative Approach.
